There was WIDESPRWAD power outage just 2 nights ago, Friday night, for almost 3 hours& it was a very muggy night which made it worse. Not a full 2 days have gone by and yet there is ANOTHER dam power outage!! And this is why I pay out the nose for utility service ??? Athens , get a dam clue on how to manage power to your customers!!! This is NOT a big city Therefore it's not that difficult to to MAINTAIN AMICABLE SERVICE!!!! I SWEAR. IF I HAD A CHOICEOF A DIFFERENT POWER COMPANY, I WILL GLADLY TAKE IT OVER THIS LITTLE PO DUNK CITY'S POWER ,OR RATHER, THE LACK THEREOF OF POWER!!
The worst service I've ever experienced. Honestly wish there was another option when it comes to utility providers. I had returned a phone call and requested a note be made on my account claiming that I could not pay till the end of the week. I was told it was no problem and the note had been made. They then proceeded to shut off my power a couple days later. When I called about it I was informed there was nothing they could do and that I HAD to pay my bill to turn it back on, even though they were at fault. This forced me to get ready for work in complete darkness. Both ladies I spoke with were EXTREMELY rude. I'm just thankful for the option to pay online so I don't have to worry about the rudeness and attitudes their employees seem to have an issue with and needs to be delt with
So tell me why when I got my lights turned on through Athens Utilities a year ago it was an easy process with no issues. I moved and came back to Athens and now I'm trying to get them cut back on. The employees are making this whole process a nightmare. They said since my boyfriend is on the lease with me they have to do a background check on his name and since he owes money from a past bill I can't get the lights on in my name! MY NAME. They absolutely didn't ask for this information a year ago and he was on the lease with me then too. I just want my lights on and more than willing to give them my money to do so but no they want to make everything a hassle.
I understand we all have bad days especially if you work for the public. But not every who needs customer service is going to be a jerk so don't assume they will be. If you can at least be polite and not default to being rude, please do yourself a favor and find another job.
