I love this place and if you are sure what it is you are looking for, it's painless. If you need help, it depends on which associate you ask. Some are wonderful, some not so much. Do your research beforehand and good luck.
While shopping for building materials I was loading my cart with large dog ear fence panels. Many employees walked by. Seeing I needed help but hurrying by before I could ask. Finally..a young named Andrew help for a second then got a phone call and pretty much ignored me while I worked. Finally when he finished his call he helped again. When leaving it was about the same. Employees didn't know answers. and made themselves scarce except for one young lady who brought my supplies to be loaded. and helped load while other healthy young men barelyndud anything and pretty much hid. Employees seem to be in the dark about the store where they work.
Good place to shop, but difficult to find anyone if you need help
The salesman was great helping us and the cashier was too. She was the sweetest lady. I like Lowes and I will go back again.
I shop Lowe's a lot and have usually had good experiences. Recently, however, I purchased a Maytag Centennial "high efficiency" washing machine. It sounds like a jet plane taking off in my utility room--by far the most noisy washer I've ever seen! Even though I live in a large house with the utility room in an isolated section behind a closed door, this washer is too loud to tolerate. I have to let the washer run while I'm gone to church or out shopping. I spoke to the appliance guy at Lowe's. He said it's perfectly normal--just the way the new washers are these days. I doubt that. I read 28 other reviews on the Maytag and nearly all of them complained about how loud this washer is. I'm seriously afraid my new Maytag is on the way to the city dump and I'm going to have to spend another $500 just to get a Whirlpool or Kenmore that doesn't sound like it's taking the end of my house out. Avoid Maytag. They have a good history, a good name (once) and were probably good machines in your grandma's day. But not any more. Bad news.
